Promises is now providing expanded services to the community!
Promises now offers extended services and hours of assistance to our Johnson County neighbors. We are also pleased to offer individual, personalized extended assistance counseling. Each Tuesday will be set aside for client appointments so that we may help clients discover and apply for additional services. Do you know someone in your neighborhood or church who needs some extra help? Please encourage them to call 817-295-9384 to schedule an appointment.
How may we help you?
Promises Community Ministries offers assistance with food, clothing and toiletries to residents of Johnson County and residents within the Burleson Independent School District. Promises does not offer assistance with utilities, rent, gasoline or medicine, but eligible clients may receive food assistance every 30 days and assistance with clothing and toiletries every 90 days. Additionally, the Promises Boutique is available to provide female clients appropriate clothing for job interviews and other special occasions.
How does it work?
Please bring proof of residency in Johnson County or the Burleson ISD to Promises during regular operating hours.(Please scroll down for hours of assistance). You will be asked to complete an Application for Assistance. If needed, we will assist you in completing the application form. We will then give you a Promises photo ID card and you will visit with a Promises Assistance Intake Counselor who will pray with you, if desired, and help determine the best way for Promises to help you. The intake counselor may also suggest other types of help for you to pursue and will offer prayer and a Bible. You will then receive the necessary voucher to go to the Promises food and clothing warehouse where loving volunteers will help fulfill needs. Please bring proof of residency to each visit for assistance.
How does Promises keep Community Assistance strong?
Promises keeps community assistance strong by strong support from the community! Financial donations as well as donations of food, clothing and toiletries are needed daily. All donations to Promises are tax-deductible and there are so many ways that you, your family and your club or organization can help. Safe, secure, online giving is available at your convenience. Promises is also grateful to churches who are involved in meeting needs in our community. Could your 1st grade Sunday School class do a toothbrush or toothpaste drive? Could your adult Sunday School class sponsor a family this summer during Kids Eat Free? A $5.00 donation helps to provide for one family for a week! Please contact Promises for more ideas and thank you!
